The revolutionary designed Eclipse base plate map compass from Brunton features an ergonomic grip for one-hand use. Simply sight the compass and align the two circles for accurate bearings.
The unique base plate offers an attachment port for the included lanyard with a built-in survival whistle and map clip. (click on inset image for a closer view) The compass features a rotating azimuth ring with 1 degreee graduations that is declination adjustable. And it is easy to read the 1 degree graduations with the special magnifying optic incorporated over the compass bezel. Other features include a map magnifier, 1:24,000 (UTM) map scales, and inch scales. Also provided is a unique 0-180° / 180-360° protractor and position locator which allows for quick plotting of bearings on a map.
